SKILL
The absolute lowest amount you need to start playing is at the time of writing, 4.6 SKILL. This covers the minting of your first character which includes a starter weapon.
The minimum recommended amount is around 10 SKILL. This gives you the option to mint new weapons if the starter weapon doesn't match your first character. Note that at the time of writing it isn't immediately profitable if you do not have at least a level 21+ character and a 4* weapon.
The more skill that gets invested the lesser the effect of RNG, since being able to match weapons element and stats with your character increases the chances of winning battles.
Weapons cost roughly 0.95 at the time of writing and the current rates are as follows:
1% to get 5 star
5% to get 4 star
15% to get 3 star
35% to get 2 star
44% to get 1 star
At the start of the game, expect to break even or even lose money on winning fights. This will slowly turn to profit as you start getting characters to certain level milestones (11, 21, 31, etc.) and start obtaining 3* or higher weapons. A high initial investment of SKILL to mint weapons could lead you to start profiting immediately.
You can also check the Cryptoblades' discord trading chat to purchase some 3* and above weapons right at the get go to quickly reach the profit zone.
BNB
Each transaction on the game requires BNB for gas fees.
Gas fees are at the time of writing listed as 0.0025 BNB. This is simply the maximum gas fee you may be spending.
At the time of writing the actual gas fees are closer to 0.0013~ BNB or roughly 0.50 - 0.60 USD.
Currently there is a bug where a wrong transaction will ask for a 0.25~ BNB gas fee. DO NOT ACCEPT THIS.
A safe amount of BNB to have in your wallet at the start is around 0.05 BNB.
Always monitor the amount of BNB you have remaining to make sure you aren't stranded without any gas.
